The goal of this age group is to make the children familiar with the Gospel, so that they can come to conversion and faith, and to teach them the foundation for living for God. We do this by telling Bible stories and teaching Bible verses, in which the Gospel is always central.
The topics covered are the stories from the Old and New Testament, and we weave in the explanation of the Gospel. We regularly use the colors of the wordless book as visual support and as a beautiful tool to explain the Gospel to the children in an understandable way. For example:
My name is Jolanda Kats. I was born on the Veluwe and grew up in a reformed family. At the age of twenty I came to faith and almost immediately afterwards I came into contact with children’s evangelism.
After a period in which I ended up in a sect, God brought me out of it to do His work among children again. I have now been a teacher at the EBS Online primary school for many years, where I am able to pass on the Gospel to many children.
What I find so beautiful about telling children about the Gospel is that they still have a whole life ahead of them in which God can use them.
My name is Gracia Rufyiritana and I love being active and creative. I have been dancing my whole life, I sing in church and I love crocheting. I also study Pedagogical Sciences at Utrecht University.
My parents raised me as a Christian, which meant I came into contact with faith at a young age. At thirteen I gave my life to Christ and I have been walking with Him ever since.
As a worker at CityKidz, it is my desire to proclaim the Gospel to both children and their parents. Children are pure and learn quickly; that is why it is so important that they hear the Word of God at a young age. I am enormously grateful that I may serve at CityKidz together with my sisters in Christ to win souls for Jesus.
Before I tell you more about myself, let me first introduce myself briefly. My name is Puck and I have two daughters who love to read the Bible, sing songs and dance for the Lord. We do that with great joy together!
As a worker at CityKidz I am mainly involved with practical and organizational matters, both behind the scenes and on location.
I did not grow up in a believing environment. In 2020 I came into contact with faith and in 2021 I chose to live for Jesus. Precisely because of my own experience, I think it is very important that children hear about Jesus at a young age. It is an honor to serve God, both within our own church and together with sisters in Christ from other churches.
The goal of this age group is to strengthen the teens with the Word of God and to encourage them to live for God. We want to make them aware of God’s Word in order to put God’s will into practice. They will be prepared for the next phase in their Christian life.
The topics we discuss with the teens are the topics that fit their lives. Examples are:
The goal of this age group is that they become aware of God’s plan for their lives as young Christians. We want to make them aware of their calling as ambassadors of Christ and prepare them to become responsible and independent Christians.
The topics we discuss with the young people are the topics that fit their age. Examples are:
Every topic we discuss with the young people is fully argued from the Word of God. They will also learn to argue these topics, so that they stand strong in what God’s Word teaches for their lives. In this way they will be prepared for the next phase in life on the basis of God’s Word.
I was born and raised in Eindhoven. At the age of 21 I heard the simplicity of the Gospel and put my faith in Christ. Before that I had little experience with faith or a deeper understanding of it, which makes that moment extra meaningful to me.
By nature I am curious and I like to think deeply about things. I have always had a critical-analytical and truth-focused way of thinking, which determines how I approach my faith and grow in it, because I really want to understand what I believe and why.
I currently live in Boxtel with my wife and our son.
What attracts me to CityKidz is the opportunity to invest in the next generation. I believe that giving children a strong Biblical foundation at a young age makes a lasting difference, not only in their faith, but also in how they go through life in a wise and balanced way, so that they can grow into who God calls them to be.
My name is Joël Sable, a third-generation Christian born in Pune, India. My faith journey became deeply personal at the age of 22 when I was baptized and born again, accepting Yeshu the Messiah as my Master and Savior. Since that moment I have devoted myself to youth and church ministries.
In August 2021, Almighty God led my family and me to the Netherlands — a move that stands as a deep testimony of His providence. Professionally, I work as a Lead Info Security Expert at ASML and hold a master’s degree in Cyber Security.
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit I felt a calling to join the CityKidz ministry to serve teens and young people. I am deeply grateful to Jolanda and the core team for welcoming me into this family. My mission is to contribute through education and mentorship, and to function as an instrument to make disciples and share the Good News of Yeshu the Messiah of Nazareth.
I believe it is important to ground our youth in the Word of God — nourishing their spirit, soul and body — because they are the leaders who will shape tomorrow.
My name is Paul John Makau, a proud father of two and a devoted follower of Christ. Although I grew up in a Christian family, I personally accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in 2013, a decision that transformed my life and deepened my faith journey.
Today I actively serve in my church in various ways, including as a board member and as leader of the FOMT service. I am passionate about guiding, directing and coaching young people, helping them to grow spiritually and to be firmly rooted in Christ.
My desire is to see lives transformed through faith, encouragement and genuine discipleship.
